Sarah Chalke
Sarah Chalke was conceived in Ottawa,
Ontario, Canada on 27 August 1976. Angie Chalke, and Doug Chalke are her
parents. She is the middle child. She has one older sister, Natasha Chalke and
one younger, Piper Chalke. Sarah's acting debut was in City Boy (1992), which
was a TV-produced movie. In 1993, following her debut film, she was a candidate
for the role of "Becky" in the TV show Roseanne (1988). Following the
time that Alicia Goranson left the show to attend college, the show was
searching for someone to replace her. Sarah graduated from highschool in 1995
and was a part in the production of Roseanne (1988) from 1994 to 1995. Sarah
was also in the film with Jim Varney (1994) in Ernest Goes to School (1994).
Then, in 1996 she appeared in two movies that included Robin of Locksley (1996)
as well as Stand Against Fear (1996) in which she played the cheerleadernamed
"Krista Wilson". In 1998, a year following the time that Roseanne
(1988) was over, Sarah was asked to be a part of a show called Nothing Too Good
for a Cowboy (1998). It was based off the TV movie of the same name, Nothing
Too Good for a Cowboy (1998) which Sarah was also in. She took over the role of
Becky on Roseanne (1988) from Alicia Goranson in 1993. She said that she would
like to stop acting and pursue a degree in college. 2001 (1993-1997) She played
Sara Gilbert's older sibling on Roseanne (1988) However she's actually younger.
Participated in the 1999 CCMA award ceremony and presented an award for the
most outstanding single of the year. [September 1999] Appeared in local
Vancouver stage productions, starting aged 8 years old. Is fluent in French and
German. She is a volunteer at a hospice that cares for sick children who are
terminally ill. In her spare moments, Chalke prefers cooking with friends
(especially Thai and sushi) as well as playing the guitar, hiking, skiing
(she's an instructor), snowboarding, kayaking and reading. Her father is an
attorney, and both of her parents run a child-adoption agency. She went with
her parents to China two years ago to help coordinate the adoptions of many
orphans.
