Rashida Jones
Rashida Jones was born Los Angeles,
California to Quincy Jones, a media producer and mogul, as well as Peggy
Lipton, Rashida is the younger sister of actress Peggy Lipton and Quincy Jones.
Her older sister is Kidada Jones, as well as five half-siblings through the
various relationships between her father and his other partners. Her father is
African American and her mother is Ashkenazi Jewish (a descendant emigrants
from Russia and Latvia). Rashida was raised in Reform Judaism. She was born in
Bel Air, Los Angeles, California. Jones has stated of her parents of mixed
race, "It was the 1970s and it's still not acceptable for them to be in a
relationship." Jones first professional acting experience was in The Last

2003, Mark Ronson, a music producer, had previously been engaged to her. Niece
of Robert Lipton. She was romantically linked to Josh Hartnett, Charlie Hunnam
and John Krasinski. She was a singer in a Tupac Shakur tribute tune, that was
written by Kidada Jones as well as her sister. Kidada and Rashida's brother
Quincy Jones III composed the song. Quincy Jones III, their father, was also
featured in the opening, reciting Shakur's lyrics "Starry Night". The
poem is the source of the song's title. Rashida's father is African American,
as well as having smaller amounts of English, Scottish, and Welsh, the ancestry
of which is Welsh, Scottish, and English (some of his African ancestral
ancestors came from the Tikar people of Cameroon). Rashida is Ashkenazi Jewish,
of Russian Jewish and Latvian Jewish descent. Her maternal grandparents, who
came of South Carolina, and Mississippi are her paternal grandparents. Her
maternal grandfather was born in New York and her maternal grandmother, who is
of Eastern European Jewish descent, was born in Dublin, Ireland. She has been
playing three characters that are named "Karen" since 2009 on the
cult TV comedy show Freaks and Geeks (1999), Stella (2006), and The Office
(2005).
