Rita Ora, a British artist and singer. Rita Sahatciu Ora was a British singer-songwriter , born to Vera Bajraktari and Besnik Sahatciu in Pristina, Kosovo in 1990. Besim Sahatciu is her granddaughter. At age one, her family decided to move to the United Kingdom. She was born in West London, attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School at Earls Court and graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School. She began singing at a young age. In 2004, she appeared in the British movie Spivs. After a successful audition for Eurovision: Your Country is in need of You (BBC One) she was picked to represent the United Kingdom in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. She was later unable to participate in the contest after several episodes because she felt that the stage was not set. In 2007, Ora was the first to get her first music release when she appeared on Craig David's track titled "Awkward" and again in 2008 with "Where's Your Love" featuring Tinchy Stryder, for which she also appears in the video. Ora began singing in bars around London. A few days after, Ora flew to New York to meet Jay-Z, an A&R inform Roc Nation about Ora. Ora was in Jay-Z's 2009 music video "Young Forever", and "Over" by Drake. Ora was noticed by Jay-Z and he quickly signed her to Roc Nation, in which she was featured in an advertisement for Roc Nation + Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik was a pub owner and she started her singing performances from the same pub. Gwen Stefani was her major influence. Her father was a pub manager and she started her singing shows from the same bar. Kate Moss and Ed Sheeran have been friends for a while.
