Mila Kuniz was born Milena Kuris on the 14th of August, 1983 in Chernivtsi. At the age of seven, Kunis immigrated to the United States with her parents, Mark and Elvira, as well as her older brother, Michael, and eventually moved to Los Angeles. It was not an easy beginning for the Kunis family, who came to their new home with only $250. Kunis parents decided to quit their careers to relocate and set out to provide their children a better future. Mark, an engineer who worked in mechanical engineering, swiftly was able to find work as taxi driver. Elvira, an entomologist from Ukraine, ended up running an entomology clinic. "I did not know the American culture," Kunis has said when she first arrived to the United States. I didn't get the culture. I didn't understand the language. My essay for college began with this sentence: "Imagine being blinded and deaf by 7 years old." That's exactly what it was like moving to America. It wasn't a difficult change. Milena Markovna Kunis was the daughter of Mark Kunis (Ukraine) and Elvira (Chenivtsi), Ukraine. Her birth date was August 14, 1983. Her older brother is also hers. Her mother works as a teacher of physics and manages an pharmacy. Her father, a mechanical engineer by trade is also driver for taxis. She is of Jewish descent.The family relocated Los Angeles when she was seven years old. Rosewood Elementary was where she went to school. When she was nine years old, she began acting lessons. She was a candidate for a couple of commercials, and made her debut on television in her first role on 'Days of Our Lives' in 1994.She starred in minor roles as a child actor on 'Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves and 'Santa with Muscles and the Angelina Jolie moviecalled 'Gia'. In 1998, she got her first big role as Jackie Burkhart, in the popular sitcom "That 70s show". After getting praise from the critics, she was cast in the character of Meg Griffin, an animated sitcom.
