Maureen O'Hara Biography

Maureen O'Hara is a famous American actress and singer and songwriter, both of Irish descent. The fiery, passionate role she played in a variety of American films is what brought attention to the beautiful green eyed beauty. Her gorgeous appearance and natural beauty were well-received. She was referred to in Hollywood as the "Queen of Technicolor". Her screen appearances were a reflection of her strong, brave spirit. She fought for respect and survival within the male-dominated culture. She described herself as "the tough Irish woman", and she would not give up her respect for others in order to get the roles she was entitled to by merit. She was a vocal advocate for women actors in television and film, and gained many followers because of it. Her autobiography, "Tis Herself", was published in 2004.
